There are 6 Major bacteria that may cause Meningitis.

  •  Meningococci (Neisseria Meningitis)

  • Hib Influenzae (Haemophilus Influenzae)

  • Pneumococci ( Streptococcus Pneumonia)

            Pneumococcal Disease can cause many infections including

                              1. Pneumonia

                              2. Otitis Media (middle ear infection)

                              3. sinusitis (sinus infection)

                              4. Bacteremia (infection in bloodstream)


  • Group B Strep

  • E.coli

  • Listeria

  • TB Meningitis (mycobacterium tuberculosis)
